By accessing or using CareerPave ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

CareerPave provides an AI-powered psychometric career assessment platform. Upon payment of the applicable fee, users receive a personalised career report based on their assessment responses. The Service is available for users in 40+ countries.

The assessment fee is a once-off payment of $10 USD (or R185 ZAR for South Africa). Payment is processed securely via PayFast or PayPal. Due to the digital nature of the product, refunds are not available once a report has been generated. If you experience a technical issue preventing report delivery, please contact us at info@careerpave.com within 7 days.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering. You may not share your account with others or use another person's account.

All content generated by CareerPave, including your career report, is for your personal use only. You may not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the reports or any content from the Service without written permission from CareerPave.

CareerPave's reports are generated by artificial intelligence and are intended as guidance only. They do not constitute professional psychological, career counselling, or legal advice. Results may vary. CareerPave makes no guarantees regarding employment outcomes or career success.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CareerPave shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the assessment.

Participants in the CareerPave Affiliate Programme agree to promote the Service honestly and accurately. CareerPave reserves the right to withhold commissions for fraudulent referrals or violations of these terms. Commission rates and payout thresholds may change with 30 days notice.

CareerPave reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the Service.

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.

We collect the following information when you use CareerPave:

Account information: Your name, email address, and country when you register.

Assessment responses: Your answers to the 24 psychometric questions and 3 AI-generated follow-up questions.

Payment information: Payment is processed by PayFast or PayPal. We do not store your card details.

Usage data: IP address, browser type, and pages visited for security and analytics purposes.

We use your information to generate your personalised career report, provide customer support, send transactional emails (payment confirmation, password reset), improve our service, and detect fraud. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Your assessment responses are sent to OpenAI's GPT-4 API to generate your career report. OpenAI processes this data in accordance with their privacy policy. We send only your anonymised responses — no personally identifiable information is included in the AI prompt.

Your data is stored on secured servers. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. We use SSL encryption for all data transmission. Assessment reports are stored securely and accessible only to you and authorised administrators.

We retain your account and assessment data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing info@careerpave.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

CareerPave uses localStorage (not traditional cookies) to maintain your login session. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads tracking tags which may set cookies for advertising and analytics purposes. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking via browser settings.

You have the right to access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and opt out of marketing communications. South African users have additional rights under POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act). To exercise these rights, contact info@careerpave.com.

CareerPave is available to school students from Grade 8 upwards with parental consent for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent.

We use the following third-party services: OpenAI (report generation), PayFast (SA payments), PayPal (international payments), Google Analytics and Google Ads (analytics and advertising). Each has their own privacy policies which we encourage you to review.
